EPS

KUMHO ENERPOR EPS is a flame-retardant, graphite-added expanded polystyrene foam offering superior thermal and acoustic insulation. Lightweight, cost-effective and ideal for insulation and packaging applications.

Expanded Polystyrene Rigid Foam (EPS – Expanded Polystyrene Foam) is a closed-cell thermoplastic foam material produced from petroleum through the polymerization of styrene monomer. KUMHO ENERPOR is manufactured in grey tones with the addition of flame retardant additives and graphite. Pentane gas is used as the blowing agent. Pentane, an organic compound, creates numerous small cells within the beads and is rapidly replaced by air during and shortly after production. Approximately 98% of the material consists of stagnant air, while 2% is polystyrene. The superior thermal insulation properties of KUMHO EPS result from the trapped still air within its cellular structure. EPS is one of the few materials worldwide that provides outstanding thermal insulation performance and offers the same performance more economically compared to other insulation materials used in our country.
